How to Make General Tso’s Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 cup cornstarch
- Pinch of white pepper
- Oil for frying
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 strip of orange peel
- 3 dried red chili peppers
- ⅓ cup green onion, chopped
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in a small amount of water
Directions:
- In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with the egg, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and a pinch of white pepper.
- Slowly add the cornstarch to coat the chicken well. You may not need the whole cup.
