How to Make Hamburger Supreme Casserole

Ingredients:

  • ½ lb lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 (4 oz) can mushrooms, drained
  • 2 cups macaroni, uncooked
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 2-quart casserole dish and set it aside.
  2. Cook the macaroni for 1 to 2 minutes less than the package says. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef with chopped onions. Season with garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and onions are soft.
  4. Add the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and drained mushrooms to the beef. Stir well and taste to adjust seasoning.
  5. In the casserole dish, layer half the meat mixture, then half the macaroni, then half the cheese. Repeat the layers.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Then top with the rest of the cheese and bake for 10 more minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
