How to Make Amish Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda

Cinnamon/sugar mixture:

  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease two 9×5 loaf pans.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and eggs.
  4. Add the buttermilk, flour, and baking soda. Mix well.
  5. Pour ¼ of the batter into each pan (just a bottom layer).
  6. Sprinkle ¾ of the cinnamon/sugar mix over the batter in both pans.
  7. Add the remaining batter on top.
  8. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon/sugar mix on top.
