- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove core from cabbage and place whole head in boiling water. Cook for a few minutes until the outer leaves are soft. Remove leaves and repeat as needed.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, cooked rice, egg, onion, salt, and pepper.
- Take one cabbage leaf, place about 1/4 cup of meat mixture in the center, and roll up like a burrito (fold in the sides and roll up). Place seam-side down in a baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, brown sugar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over cabbage rolls.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for 15 more minutes.
