How to Make Taco Stuffed Shells

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 (4 oz) package cream cheese
  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup taco sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1½ cups crushed tortilla chips (optional)
  • 3 green onions, chopped (optional)
  • Sour cream (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain grease.
  4. Add taco seasoning and prepare according to the package instructions.
  5. Add cream cheese to the beef and stir until melted and well mixed. Let cool.
  6. Pour salsa into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Fill each pasta shell with the beef mixture and place in the dish.
  8. Pour taco sauce over the shells.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove foil, sprinkle with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes more, until cheese is melted.
  11. Garnish with crushed chips, green onions, and sour cream if desired.
