How to Make Yummy Apple Slab Pie
Ingredients:
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts (softened as directed on box)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 9 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (about 9 medium)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
- Heat oven to 425°F. Lightly grease a 15x10x1-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray.
- Unroll one pie crust. Place it in the pan and press it into the corners. Let the crust come slightly up the sides.
- In a large bowl, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Add apples and stir well to coat.
- Pour the apple mixture over the crust and spread evenly.
- Unroll the second crust and place it on top of the apples. Pinch the edges to seal and cut a few slits in the top crust.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Remove from oven and cool for about 45 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled pie.
- Let the glaze set. Cut into squares and serve.
