How to Make Apple Spice Fritter Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped

For the Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–3 tablespoons milk or cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat white sugar and butter together until smooth and creamy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Combine flour and baking powder together in a bowl. Stir into the creamed butter mixture. Mix milk into the batter until smooth.
  6. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add half the chopped apples. Sprinkle with half the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.

  11. To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over the cooled bread.
