How to Make Lemon Loaf


Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest (about 2 lemons)
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

For the Glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a loaf pan and set it aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix the sugar and lemon zest.
  5. Add the softened butter to the sugar mix and beat until light.
  6. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  7. Add the milk, vanilla, and lemon juice. Stir well.
  8. Slowly add the flour mixture and stir until smooth.
  9. Pour the batter into the pan.
  10. Bake for about 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it.
  12. Mix powdered sugar and lemon juice to make the glaze.
  13. Pour the glaze over the loaf once it has cooled.
