How to Make Amazing Egg Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 ounces shredded carrots
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 quart peanut oil for frying
  • 8 egg roll wrappers

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork over medium heat until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add ground ginger, garlic powder, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  3. Mix in the shredded cabbage and carrots. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until vegetables are soft. Remove from heat and let it cool a bit.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the flour and water to make a paste.
  5. Lay out one egg roll wrapper. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center. Fold the sides over, roll tightly, and seal the edge with the flour paste.
  6. Repeat with the rest of the wrappers and filling.
  7. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Fry egg rolls 2 to 3 at a time for 4 to 5 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
