Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (14.5-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
Directions:
  1. In a large pot, brown ground beef over medium heat; drain grease.
  2. Add onions and garlic; cook until onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in water, beef broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, bay leaves, Italian seasoning, and soy sauce; bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add uncooked elbow macaroni; return to a boil, then simmer, covered, until macaroni is tender, about 20 minutes.
  6. Discard bay leaves; season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
